About us

Bob and Denise grew up in Wolfeboro and always wanted to live near the lake and be near their families.  They met one summer while working at the Wolfeboro Inn for the McBrides.  Denise had just recently graduated from Plymouth State College. The following year they decided they wanted to open a restaurant of their own.  The prospect of taking over a 100 seat restaurant was kind of intimidating, but they took on the challenge ... and the Cider Press sat empty. That was years ago.  Over the years the Earles have slowly renovated most of the restaurant, a little at a time in the off season, doing most of the work themselves.  They are well established with the summer of 2006 beginning their 26th year in business.
